Diving Deep with DROR!

Lisa Alter has been an incredibly dedicated board member of DROR since its inception. We are so grateful for her hands-on investment in our young women in this wonderful summer chug that she created. Ever since she made Aliyah, Lisa noticed that there were different standards for water safety across the different populations in Israel. She was shocked and saddened, along with the rest of us, when a local 6th grade boy of Ethiopian descent tragically drowned on a tiyul because he did not know how to swim. As a swimming enthusiast, Lisa found yet another place to make a difference in the lives of our young DROR-Shoham women, in providing them with a program for swimming safely. Our young women truly enjoyed this wonderful chug, and by the end of the training, all of them improved in their abilities. They went from not knowing how to swim at all to doing laps in the deep water without fear or apprehension. We look forward to more life-changing DROR sports programs! Thanks so much Lisa!
